The Foundation is seeking a new Executive Director (part-time).
The Board of Directors is searching for an energetic part-time Executive Director who is passionate about enriching education for all students and enabling teachers to augment their curricula with unique experiences.

- The Executive Director will work closely with the Board of Directors to execute on The Foundation's strategy, including fundraising efforts and program management.
- The role requires excellent communication and organizational skills and experience with leading fundraising efforts.
- The Executive Director will be expected to develop a strong presence in the school district and oversee implementation of approved grants. The role provides for flexibility in hours and location.
- Build and maintain relationships with TUFSD staff including administration, principals and teachers; sponsors, grantors, local foundations, and top donors.
- Responsible for the $50k (on average) annual external grant process from existing grantor foundations, including grant applications/reapplications, and coordination with the grant writer to identify new external grant sources.
- Lead the $50k (on average) Annual Appeal fundraising campaign, and support other fundraising efforts including the annual Spring Benefit.
- Work with the Grants Committee to oversee the Foundations’ annual teacher innovation grant cycle, including communication and liaison with District staff and the related pillar committees, as well as oversight of grant implementation.
- Oversee the Foundation Office, including maintaining Donor information and Records Management; and oversee the activities of the bookkeeper and other contract worker(s).
- Assist the Finance Committee and Treasurer in the preparation of the annual budget and coordinate with the Treasurer and Bookkeeper monthly to ensure the financial reports are accurate.
- Assist with the Communications Committee to review Foundation materials before publishing, including website updates, brochures, informational signs, event invitations, year-in-review publications, and social media postings detailing Foundation programs and grants.
- Support the Foundation Board in its strategies and execution, including preparing for monthly Board Meetings, maintaining the annual calendar of: board and committee meetings and key events and activities; planning and participation in support of the Annual Spring Benefit; key community activities and the management of overall program pillars and operating committees.
Required Qualifications:
- Grant Writing experience
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship management acumen, including professional written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with office management, including data base management, records keeping, word processing and email applications, and responding in a timely manner to email or phone inquiries
- Time management skills to meet deadlines and the ability to prioritize and proactively communicate progress
- Organizational skills to manage and drive proactive communication with multiple stakeholders
- Experience with non-profit organizations and/or fundraising strategies and execution
- Knowledge of the public education system
- Able to make a 2 to 3-year commitment to this role minimally
- Website management skills
- Knowledge of the Tarrytown/Sleepy Hollow community and/or The Public Schools of the Tarrytowns
- Experience leading an education-focused non-profit
- Experience working in a corporate or educational capacity

The Foundation serves approximately 2700 students in grades K-12 across the Tarrytown Union Free School District (TUFSD) from two municipalities, Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow.
Founded almost 30 years ago, and today the Foundation offers students enrichment programs in Arts & Culture, Science-Technology- Engineering and Math (STEM), Wellness, College Readiness and Early Literacy.
The Foundation is managed by an Executive Director, an Executive Board, and a broader Board of Directors who operate through various committees, which include a Grants Committee, Finance Committee, Communications Committee, and Fundraising/Spring Benefit Committee.
