Science in Focus
Using equipment funded by the Foundation, the Science Department held a photography contest. As part of a competition within their classes, students had to take and submit a photograph that captured a scientific concept, principle or phenomena. This was a wonderful opportunity to connect scientific principles to engineering or applications of science using photography.
Teacher Leila Madani instructed students to submit their photograph and with a brief essay describing the physics concepts depicted. The students' work was incredible - in fact, local eateries Pik Nik and Muddy Waters were so impressed, they displayed select photos on their walls this summer!
And to top it off, this photo by Jacques Abou-Rjeili, class of 2016 won 1st place in the American Association of Physics Teachers photo contest!
