FIND YOUR KINDER-RYTHMN
As one of our new InstaGrants, the Foundation was able to fund a mental wellness program for children who are having trouble adapting to school life. Kindergarten students struggling with self-expression and self-regulation will be able to benefit from support via music therapy, using instruments, songs, music and movement.
While the teachers work on this important social and emotional development with all of their students within the classroom setting, for some children teachers have seen that it is helpful to get special attention in a smaller setting. This provides them with the opportunity to express themselves without competition or risk of judgment while in a smaller group with their peers. In addition, the use of music as a part of the program provides a special shared experience and extra way to communicate and express emotions.
