 KINDERGARTEN STEAM MUSEUM

An interactive, hands-on learning museum was set up in the John Paulding gym for the day.
Students had the opportunity to explore different learning stations related to science, technology, engineering, art and math.
With activities suitable for Kindergarten students, this “museum” not only augmented the existing science and math curriculum, but it also exposed the students to high-tech fields of study they never before had access to.
In addition, the museum added the A in STEAM, which opened up the students’ right-brains through activities that encouraged divergent thinking.
With the help of parent volunteers, the children were encouraged to explore at their own pace and were able to build parabolic arches out of large foam blocks, convert their kinetic energy into electricity as well as create mazes and board games for a programmable robot.
