KINDERGARTEN INTERNATIONAL DANCE
One week of physical education classes were dedicated to teaching international dances to kindergarten students.
Thanks to the patience and enthusiasm of Josie's International School of Dance, the children were introduced to dance styles from countries around the world, including Spain (flamenco), Argentina (Tango), Mexico (folk dance), the Caribbean (salsa) and Europe (the polka).
At the end of the week, the students were able to perform a short choreographed dance for the Pre-K students.
Not only did the children have a lot of fun and learn about diverse cultures, but using music and movement provided differentiated learning for students that learn best with auditory and kinesthetic modalities.
