HUDSON RIVER FIELD TRIPS
Ever wondered what really lives in the Hudson River? Thanks to funding from the Foundation, in June 2016 the entire 7th grade was given the opportunity to visit the Clearwater Tideline Program for an exciting hands-on scientific analysis of the organisms found in our local waterways.
With the aid of Clearwater educators, students were able to bring a seine net in from the river. After picking the net clean, they brought the diverse Hudson River animals to the program aquarium and to identified them using their knowledge of dichotomous keys. Of course, all the creatures were returned to the river at the end of the day!
We look forward to being able to fund this experience again in spring 2017.
