THE FOUNDATION FOR THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS OF THE TARRYTOWNS INDIVIDUAL TEACHER AND COLLABORATIVE GRANTS
Guidelines:
The Foundation seeks to fund projects, programs or presentations that must:
a) Enhance student learning through innovative strategies that address the New York State Learning Standards;
b) Be compatible with district curriculum;
c) Have measurable objectives;
d) Put an emphasis on a program or project, although supplies/equipment that support the program can be included in the budget;
e) Serve at least one class of students; and
f) Support in school, pre-or after-school programs or services.
And that may:
1. Support pilot projects that may be further developed over time;
2. Encourage collaboration across classes, disciplines, teams, schools;
3. Enhance teaching; or
4. Encourage differentiation.
Who can apply:
Teachers, administrators, support staff and parents and students in partnership with teachers.
Individual or Collaborative Grants:
Individual grants up to $1,500
Collaborative grants up to $5,000
Requirements/Evaluation:
By publicizing the activities generated by the Grant Program, the Foundation gains leverage in raising future funds for these endeavors. Toward this end, the Foundation requests that grant recipients invite the Foundation to grant related activities and culminating presentations, and forward photographs, digital images, websites, anecdotal information, student feedback, etc.
​Applicant is required to submit a Final Assessment of the Project including student feedback within 30 days of project completion.
NOTE: You must have your Principal's approval before submitting grant request.
NOTE: When notifying the community about the project the following language must be included: "This project/program was funded by The Foundation for the Public Schools of the Tarrytowns."
