EVERYBODY'S HERO - JACKIE ROBINSON
In February 2017, fifth graders visted SUNY Purchase to see a performance by Mad River Theater Company of
Everybody's Hero - Jackie Robinson.
This play with music explores the events that shaped Jackie Robinson’s character, his struggle to gain acceptance, and the tremendous obstacles he overcame on his way to changing the face of our nation and our national pastime.
This experience fits in very well with themes addressed by the fifth grade.
As team leader Will Jacobs pointed out:"
The entire 5th grade studies Jackie Robinson in the spring through
EngageNY, so the content is perfect for our curriculum".
